One Shawl to Rule Them All

My mom's birthday is coming up in June, and I've been wanting to make her something for a while. So I finally decided I would make this Woodland shawl for her out of Dream in Color Smooshy in the color Dusky Aurora. After a bad beginning, I think I've got the hang of it. The stitch markers and pattern keepers help for sure...like bumpers in bowling. I just finished the first repeat, so not too far along, but still, I wanted to show and tell.

Notes: Sock knitting isn't hard. Really, I mean it. Come on in, the water's fine!

I made some fuzzy scarves for some more teachers at Sara's school, I'm waiting for the picture of all of them wearing them, but until then, here's the scarves. . .

Knits in action

Here's Sofia wearing her oh-so-soft cashmere blend sweater. I hadn't tried it on her until today and I'm glad I did. It's pretty much a perfect fit! What do you think?

The cape is complete! Well, mostly. I need to add two more buttons, but other than that, it's el fin. Whatcha think?

I'm waiting on some needles to start my Cotton Chenille Baby Blanket, so in the meantime, I'm working on the Daphne Baby Cape from Knit 2 Together. It's about 10 inches long and 51 inches wide at this point. I still have 7 more inches to go, not including the hood. We'll see how far I get before I have to abandon it (I have to get that blanket done first).

Prayer shawl progress

since everyone's been posting the progress of their knitting, I thought I would share as well. I have finished my first prayer shawl (except the fringe). I have the second one half done, I'm trying to get it finished by this Sunday so I can turn them in.

Projects for the confined

Here are two more small projects I knitted in the past few days. One is an almost complete baby hat, made from Lion Brand Landscapes (I still need to add the earflaps).
The second is a gaiter made from *the* softest 100% merino wool EVER - Malabrigo. I LOVE it and can't wait to begin a baby blanket, but first I need to get gauge. : (

I've finished my second Harry Potter scarf for myself and I have started on the third one for my friend, Andi, I have told her it will be a little while.

I'm working on some new sweaters for my new baby! I'll post some pictures soon.

New Project

I started a new blanket. It is a diagonal pattern with lots of yarn overs. I'm using Sugar 'N Cream yarn. We'll see how many months this one takes...
